Longevity/Color:
The picture above was taken after a week which is why my nail polish isn't looking very good. I forgot to take a picture when I first put in on >.< I only used one coat though and it was really opaque. Some of my nails still look great like my pinky finger but the fingers that get the most use like the thumb or pointer finger are looking a little worse for wear. The polish was doing really well for the first few days but after about 4 or 5 days it started getting dramatically worse. What I've noticed from this polish is that it doesn't chip off but it kind of peels off. This causes large chunks of the polish to come off at a time.
Thoughts on the Diamond Top Coat:
I really love the top coat in this system. It makes the color underneath really smooth looking and it lives up to the gel like finish. I've tried using the top coat with other brands as well and if there's any streaks this top coat will smooth it out really nicely. I do think that the top coat is what's causing the polish to peel off though. When I used it with another polish that doesn't usually peel off, it caused the other brand to peel off as well. (Hope that made sense)
Pros/Cons:
- really opaque color in one coat
- not streaky
- top coat really smooths out nails
- gives a shiny, gel effect like claims
- dries quickly
- wide brush
Cons:
- nail polish peels off nails
- isn't super long lasting like claims
Final Thoughts:
If you're looking for a nail polish that will act like a gel polish but without the UV lamp then this may not be the result you're looking for. If you're looking for a decent nail polish though that will give a really nice glossy finish then this may work. Also, if you're okay with changing or reapplying your nail polish every week then this may be a nice nail polish for you.
